After some difficult depression years, the Dockums returned to hometown May, OK. Rosetta moved away from home to finish high school and attend college in Overland Park at Kansas City College and Bible School. While there, she met her future husband, Virgil Riggs.
Rosetta married Virgil on May 18, 1947 in Overland Park, KS. During the next several years, Rosetta & Virgil pursued further education with the goals of ministry and teaching. Rosetta earned a BS in Home Economics, a Master of Religious Education, and a MS in Home Economics. After training, Rosetta assisted Virgil with Christian ministry in a number of locations, finally retiring with him to Overland Park, KS in 1995.
Though she enjoyed teaching, Rosetta first loves were of ministry and family. She spent her life dedicated to her roles as mother, homemaker, and pastor’s wife. Rosetta focused on loving others and providing a caring atmosphere for people in need. Beloved by family and friends, Rosetta will be greatly missed, but we have joy she is now in heaven with her adored husband.
