Robert H. Magnus, born April 22, 1945 in Evanston, Illinois departed this earth on December 6, 2020 in Overland Park, KS. He had a quick wit and loved to tell a joke, be it a good one or a bad one. He liked to see his daughters laughing along with or at his antics. Bob worked for the City of Overland Park Parks Department for 30 years. He enjoyed time outdoors and liked to watch the grass grow, literally. Bob had a passion for greyhound dogs as pets and bringing an end to dog racing. He volunteered with KC REGAP and Grey2K and wrote numerous letters to end dog racing. He had several beloved greyhounds over the years, especially Misty and Maggie. With the onset of COVID-19 in March 2020, his daughters began weekly Saturday visits, sitting outside his window and filling up bird feeders while they talked over the phone. He looked forward to their visit each week. Bob was cared for by many loving individuals, namely, Judy, Dominique, Tassie, Valerie, Tami, Wilson, Peti, MiKayla, Sonia, Kenisha, Tasha, Tonia, Desiree, Kaitlyn, Frances, Alex and many, many others. His daughters extend their deepest gratitude to the care providers at Rose Estates and Harbor Hospice for providing their father with outstanding care, both physically, mentally and emotionally. He is survived by his daughters Cathy (Matt) Metcalf of Kansas City, MO; Debbie (Scott) Sidusky of Gardner, KS; grandchildren Megan, Shea, Heather and Dean, and his ex-wife Linda Magnus. In lieu of flowers, he would appreciate donations to be sent to KC REGAP, https://kcregap.org and Grey https://www.grey2kusa.org/index.php
