Obituary

Our beloved O.H. McDaniel passed away on October 12th, 2020. He was born on July 4th, 1934 to Otho McDaniel and Lillie (Spain) McDaniel.

 O.H. also known as H or Mac, lived in Oklahoma for the first part of his life. He graduated from Jay, OK High School in 1954. He married his high school sweetheart, Josephine (Cochran) McDaniel on June 14, 1954. He served in the Army for 2 years. Later permanently settling in Kansas, with their two children. Rick McDaniel and LaDonna Spargur.

O.H. worked for Owens Corning Fiberglass for 16 years. After that, he moved on to PQ Corporation, where he then retired. Being the hard worker that he was, he decided to go back to work for 10 more years, at Curé of Ars Catholic School, where he was loved and adored by all the staff and kids. O.H. was a lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time out on his boat. He also had a love for square dancing and was very good at it. In his later years he enjoyed sitting down to read a good western novel.

O.H. was a loving, strong, ornery man. He was a very hard worker, and despite his later health struggles in life, he always had a big grin to share, and a warm embrace to give. He absolutely loved his family and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren so much.

O.H. was preceded in death by his parents, his son; Rick McDaniel, sister; Ethelene Harvey and brother; Jerry McDaniel.

O.H. is survived by his wife, Josephine McDaniel, Sister; Shirley June Driskill (Doug), Daughter; LaDonna Spargur (Vincent), Donna Covell (who he considered his adopted daughter), Granddaughters; Christal McDaniel Clairy (John), Brittany Kanaoka (Ken), and Heather Jones (Travis). Grandson Ricky L. McDaniel Jr., Great-Grandchildren; Braden Clairy, Gavin Clairy, Laila McDaniel, Max McDaniel, Silas Jones, and Roman Jones. Many other family and friends who will cherish his memory.
