Deanna Marie Shaw was born August 10, 1942, in Kansas City, KS and died June 23, 2022, in Olathe at a hospice facility where she was being treated for Covid 19 related illnesses.

Deanna was a 1960 graduate of Wyandotte High School where she was a member of the Nation Honor Society, a varsity cheerleader, homecoming attendant, and spring princess. She was a beautiful, popular, and intelligent young woman. She also graduated from UMKC with a BA and MA degrees in education.

She was a teacher of 4th grade at the Katherine Carpenter School in Overland Park, and later a group clerk with the Internal Revenue Service in Kansas City, MO.

She was the daughter of Joseph and Wanda Shaw, and is survived by her brother Larry of Kansas City, MO, two nephews Joseph Shaw and wife Cheryl of St. Peters, MO, and David Shaw of Kansas City, MO, as well as niece Katherine Shaw Anderson and husband Gabe Anderson of Ft. Collins, CO.

She will be remembered as a loving presence in the lives of all who knew her.

The family requests donations to the Humane Society of the US in lieu of flowers.
