Wilmetta "Billie" Orr, 98, of Overland Park, passed away on August 17, 2012 during a brief stay at Overland Park Nursing & Rehab Center.
Billie was born September 17, 1913 in Saline County, MO, the daughter of John and Etha Griffitts. Billie was a member of Overland Park Presbyterian Church. She was also a long-time member of the Overland Park American Legion Auxiliary, Post 370.
Billie is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Hubert Orr, their one son, Bob Orr and his wife, Lynne, of Beecher, IL, one granddaughter, Ginger Malcolm and husband Chris, of Elmhurst, IL, and two great-grandchildren, Molly and Charlie, and many nieces and nephews. Billie was preceded in death by her parents, 10 sisters, and a brother.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 20th, 5-7 PM, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 21st, 10:00 AM, also at Overland Park Chapel, with interment to follow at D.W. Newcomer Son's Johnson County Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Overland Park Presbyterian Church, 8029 Overland Park Drive Shawnee Mission, KS 66204
