Miss Tracy Strubbe

November 28, 1972 — March 8, 2014

Tracy Lynn Strubbe, 41, Shawnee, KS. Our special angel was sent to us on November 28, 1972, and she departed from Kansas City Hospice House for her heavenly home on Saturday, March 8, 2014, while in the peaceful presence of her loving family. The sunshine and happiness that her unconditional love, joyful spirit, and sweet innocence brought to our lives, and to the lives of everyone who knew her, are gone. But her loving presence will remain with us forever.
Tracy was born in Evanston, IL to Tom and Theresa Strubbe. She was subsequently blessed with the additions of her brother, Patrick Strubbe, and her sister, Christina Strubbe, who have always loved her deeply, and both of whom she adored beyond description.
She moved with her family to Leawood, KS in 1990. Tracy has since resided with Community Living Opportunities in two wonderful group homes, first in Lawrence, KS, and more recently in Shawnee, KS, where she captured the hearts of her many friends and dedicated caregivers. Tracy graduated from Lawrence High School in 1993.
She is survived by her parents, Tom Strubbe, Olathe, KS, and Theresa Strubbe, Leawood, KS; her brother Patrick Strubbe, sister in law Erika Strubbe, nephews Ethan and William Strubbe, and niece Terra Strubbe, Charlotte, NC; her sister Christina Strubbe, Boston, MA; and a host of caring uncles, aunts, and cousins around the country.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 12th at 10:00 AM, at Cure' of Ars Catholic Church, 9401 Mission Road, Leawood, KS. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8:30 PM, on Tuesday, March 11th, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons
Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave, OP, KS.

"We did not realize right away
The leading role we were asked to play
But with this child sent from above
Came stronger faith and richer love

We soon realized the privilege given
In caring for this gift from heaven
Our precious charge so meek and mild
Was heaven's very special child."

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Community Living Opportunities, Individual Needs Fund in Memory of Tracy Strubbe, 11627 W. 79th Street, Lenexa, KS 66286.
