Sylvia Cagle

Sylvia "Non" Cagle, of Leawood, KS, died on August 6, 2012.
Sylvia was born in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to moving to Kansas City in 1953, she worked for the Signal Corps. During her early married life, Sylvia helped her husband in building Weaver Airline Personnel School. She enjoyed the violin and played in the Overland Park and Civic Orchestras, where she served on the board of directors for many years. Sylvia was also involved in La Causerie Franciase, spoke fluent French and Romanian, and was a long-time supporter of the Lyric Opera. She enjoyed many travel adventures with her family, including African hunting safaris, summers at Lake Lotawana, MO, and the beach in South Carolina.
Survivors include her three children, Chris (Marilyn) Cagle of Olathe, Peter (Linda) Cagle of Kansas City, MO, and David (Cheryl) Cagle of Lakeside, AZ, seven grandchildren, Christopher, David, Mark, John, Richard, and Davey Cagle, and Jennifer Bundrick, one great-grandchild, Ava Bundrick, a sister, Mitzi Antoneskou of Roslyn, PA, two nephews, Peter Olarian and Harry Cagle, two nieces, Nicole Wilson and Noelle Moreland, two step-great-grandchildren, a great-niece, and a great-nephew. Sylvia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Langley "Chris" Cagle, who passed away in August, 1992, and a brother, Peter Olarian.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, august 12th, 6-8 PM, with the Trisagion at 7:00 PM, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 13th, 10:00 am at Saint Dionysios Greek Orthodox Church, 8100 West 95th Street Overland Park, KS 66212. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Dionysois.
