Shoua Vang

Shoua Lue Vang, also known as Nchaiv Suav Vaj was a caring husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, cousin, son, and friend. He passed away on Monday June 7, 2021, three days before his 69th birthday, surrounded by loved ones.

Shoua was born in the Lao province of Xiangkhouang to Boua Lor Vang and Khu Lor. He completed high school in Laos with the support of his family.

In his early twenties he married Kintana Inou Phothisath. He was widowed shortly after he and his wife had a daughter.

Displaced by the Vietnam war, Shoua and his family fled to a refugee camp in Thailand where he reconnected with and married Pang Lor in 1976. Even after he and his family relocated to Thailand, he frequently returned to Laos for work. He was a social worker who helped families affected by the war.

Shoua arrived in the United States in 1979 with his wife and two children. After arriving to the United States Shoua and Pang had 10 more children together. Here he was also able to further his education obtaining an Associate degree.

Shoua loved spending time in the company of his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved spending time outdoors hunting.

Tenacious, resilient, brave, and hardworking Shoua was able to achieve his dream of owning a farm. It is through this farm he leaves his legacy to his children, providing them a place to come together and call their own.

He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife. Sadly, his oldest sister passed away one day after him. He is survived by his wife Pang Lor, his 12 children, 4 daughters-in-law, 2 sons-in-law, 20 grandchildren, 3 brothers and younger sister.

A traditional Hmong funeral service is scheduled for three days; on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 8:00 AM until 10:30 PM, Sunday, July 11, 2021 from 8:00 AM until 10:30 PM and Monday from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM, after which he will be transported to his final resting place.
