Ruth Meserve, 78, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014, after a long fight.
Ruth was born October 30, 1935, to Margaret and Chester Owen Jones, in Anthony, KS. She married George D. Meserve, Sr. on February 6, 1982. Ruth enjoyed a very good and enjoyable life. She was a nurse and counselor for more than 50 years. When Ruth married George Meserve, she moved to Prairie Village, KS and worked tirelessly for the Mothers’ Against Drunk Driving and did court monitoring. Ruth enjoyed farming, working with horses and animals, sewing quilting, church involvement and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and two brothers.
Ruth leaves many friends and loved ones; one brother, Charles Jones; and family of Huntsville, AL.

A funeral service for Ruth will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at De Soto Baptist, 8655 Church Street, De Soto, KS 66018. Interment to follow at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens, Shawnee, KS. Family will greet friends a half hour before the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
