August 6, 1944 — October 3, 2014

Robert G. Morgan, 70, of Overland Park, and previously of Albuquerque, NM, passed away Oct. 3, 2014.  A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 10, 2014 at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church, 9300 Nall Ave., Overland Park, KS 66207.  The family will receive friends the evening prior from 5-7 PM, Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Overland Park Funeral Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park.  Cremation will take place and inurnment will be immediately following the memorial service at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
Bob was born August 6, 1944 in Borger, Texas to Austin and Mildred Swanson Morgan. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. He held a Master of Science in Engineering Management from the University of Kansas. He spent his entire career with Honeywell, first at the Kansas City plant and later in Albuquerque. He spent the last three years enjoying retirement, and the chance to return to Kansas City to be near family. He loved woodworking, golf and spending time with family and friends. He always had time to help others. He coached sports for his sons, and volunteered for the Stanly Fire Department for 15 years. He had the ability to cut pie in equal slices, no matter the number of guests.
He was a quiet man with superb character and great wit.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 50 years, Virginia “Ginny” Manly Morgan and sons Gary (Mary) and Michael (Amy) Morgan, grandchildren Hope, Anna, Erin and Austin Morgan and Carrie Jean and Logan Kitchen, brothers Tom (Mary Ann) Morgan and John (Lois) Morgan. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bob lived his life with love, respect, truth, integrity and growth.
