Richard A. ?Dick? Aubin, 71, of Mission, KS passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 19. Dick was born in Berlin, New Hampshire on May 21, 1936. He attended Cornell University and continued to further his education throughout his life. He was active in the community and was a past member of the Mission City council and the Soroptomist club. He was an active member of the Club Managers Association of America serving on many committees and as a past president. Dick served his country in the United States Army and then found his calling in the food service industry. He managed many facilities in the Kansas City area from Tomahawk Golf Course and Hillcrest Country Club to Rockhill Tennis Club. He retired and ended his unprecedented career in the club management industry in 2002 after working at the Carriage Club for fifteen years. Dick was a legendary club manager and his charismatic personality could light up a room. He always went out of his way to greet everyone and loved every minute of his time at work. After retirement he traveled to Florida where he and his two sons ran a private tennis club for several years until his return to Kansas City. He married the love of his life, Norma, on January 12, 1962 and they were together for over 45 years. They traveled extensively and saw much of the United States in their motor home. His grandchildren were the light of his life and favorite memories are of fishing, skipping rocks and walking around the lake with grandpa. His passing leaves a hole in our hearts that can never be filled.
