Polly Blackburn Wolbach of Kansas City, Missouri passed on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012. Memorial services will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church on 6401 Wornall Terrace on Saturday, Sept. 22nd at 3:30 p.m.

Polly was born in Omaha, Nebraska and attended Brownell Talbot School in Omaha. She attended Bennett College in Millbrook, New York and graduated from The University of Colorado where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.

She moved to Kansas City in 1972. Her community involvement included serving five years on the Altar Guild of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, the Board of Directors for the John Wornall House, the Board of Directors for Children's TLC and as a member of Children's Relief Association. She was co-chairman of The Pembroke Hill Clothesline Sale and co-chairman of the Boys and Girls Club Kid's Night Out. She was a member of the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri. In the Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Association of the Greater Kansas City Area she was a Kappa Holiday House co-chairman, served as the Association's president for two years, was the local convention chairman for The Kappa Biennial National Convention held in Kansas City and was named "Kappa of the Year" in 2004.

One of her greatest joys in life was travel. She was blessed to have traveled extensively throughout the world.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Peggy and Stanley Blackburn of Omaha. She is survived by her son William Hunter Wolbach, his wife Hillary Bascom Wolbach and their daughter Katherine Bird Wolbach, all of Mission Hills, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to University of Kansas Cancer Center or the charity of your choice.
