Odean Paterson

Odean (Hockersmith) Paterson, born June 3, 1922 in East Prairie, Mo. to Arthur and Etta (Parker) Hockersmith. She passed away March 3, 2019 in Tallahassee, FL. Odean was proceeded in death by her husband Keith James Paterson. Odean is survived by her son, James Ronald Grissom, Des Moines, IA, two daughters Donna Lee (Benny) Hudson, Gardner, KS and Yvonne Odean (Steve) Dow, Tallahassee, FL; one sister, Ruth Hockersmith, St. Louis, MO and one sister-in-law, Barbara Skorupan, Laurie, MO; eight grandchildren, —- 7 great-grandchildren — 8 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces that she loved dearly.

Service will be held at Overland Park Funeral Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, @ 11:00 AM, with visitation an hour prior from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS., @ 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: M25 Ministries. PO Box 30309, Amarillo, TX 79120. A ministry to Veterans, the homeless and unwed mothers.
