MERRILL HUTCHINSON
Merrill Hutchinson of Overland Park, KS passed away Oct. 18, 2011 after enjoying life for 86 years. He loved his wife of 62 years, Rowena, his three children: Dean, Dana, and Dee Ann. Merrill was born in Hewins, KS on May 24, 1925. He worked as a heavy duty truck mechanic for 40 years at Westfall GMC, retiring in 1986. During retirement he looked forward to going to the auto auctions with his good friend Bob. He treasured the time he spent at his lake house and traveling with his family. He was passionate about cars and boats, and never missed a KU basketball game. Merrill was a faithful member of Overland Park Christian Church since 1958. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Riedel; mother, Lilly and father, Merrill Francis. Survivors include his wife, Rowena; Dean and Debbi Hutchinson, Dennis and Dee Ann Villarreal, Robert Riedel; 8 grandkids, and 5 great grandkids; and best friend Jesse. Contributions may be made to the Overland Park Christian Church. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 at the Overland Park Christian Church; burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel.
