Marian L. Nelson

Marian LaVerne Nelson passed away on December 7, 2024, at the age of 94. 

Marian is survived by her daughter, Nancy and son-in-law Don; daughter, Penny and son-in-law Henry; four grandchildren: Jason, Lindsay, Jeremy and Halie; and eleven great-grandchildren: Lainey, Porter, Rowen, Finn, Lettie, Sawyer, Bentley, Kamryn, Ayden and Tate, and a sister, Ruby Martin of Colorado.    She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; parents, Harry and Nola; sisters: Dottie, Marylou and Ruth Ann; brothers: Junior and Ronnie; sons: Tim and JD; daughter, Colleen; and great- grandson, Huk. 

Marian was a devoted wife and loving mother of five children. She loved gardening and was a devoted Christian. 

Her visitation will be held at the Overland Park Funeral Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave, from 3-4:00 pm on Thursday, December 12, 2024. A graveside service will be held on Dec. 13th at 10:00 am at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
