Margaret Foiles passed away September 23, 2018 at the age of 90 after a long and good life. Margaret was born June 19, 1928, in Peoria, Illinois and was the oldest of 6 children born to Michele and Concetta Cotroneo Zerbonia. A 1946 graduate of the Academy of Our Lady, she worked as an executive secretary in the Planning Department at Caterpillar before meeting the love of her life, Leon Ray (Pete) Foiles. They married on Dec. 29, 1951 and Margaret became an Air Force wife. During the early years of the marriage, they had four children and lived in Fort Worth, Texas; Tucson, Arizona; Streator, Illinois; Peoria, Illinois; Lynchburg, Virginia, finally moving to Overland Park, Kansas in 1969. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, sister Theresa, brother Vincent, and son-in-law Jim O’Malley. She is survived by her husband, Pete Foiles, her daughter and three sons, Theresa O’Malley (husband Tim Stadler), Frank Foiles (wife Leslie), Ralph Foiles (wife Carol), George Foiles (wife Michelle), grandchildren Mike O’Malley, Kenzie O’Malley (husband Mark Simithraaratchy), Jake Foiles (wife Amanda), Dan Foiles, Jon Foiles, Luke Foiles, Jenna Foiles, Lyndy Foiles, great-grandchildren Riley Foiles and Eli Foiles. She is also survived by a sister, Carmela Driscoll, and brothers, Angelo Zerbonia and Joseph Zerbonia and many nieces and nephews. Margaret’s focus was always family and everything she did was aimed at promoting each and every one of them. She was an excellent housewife, a skilled seamstress, an avid reader and a Master Gardener. She will be remembered for her beautiful flower beds, red velvet cakes, dried flower arrangements, love of cookies, competitive Scrabble play and no-nonsense attitude.
