Mae Dee LaRose, 77, died Thursday, September 20, 2012. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Church of God (Holiness), 6801 W. 74th, Overland Park, KS 66204; burial in Antioch Pioneer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel. The family suggests contributions to Harmony Hill Youth Camp, 7030 Broadmoor

Mae Dee was born October 31, 1934 in Hickory County, MO to Forest Dee and Ruby Mae Pitts. She graduated Valedictorian of Wheatland High School in 1951. She married Von Dee LaRose in August 1952. She was a faithful member of the Overland Park Church of God (Holiness). Mae Dee worked for Herald and Banner Press and Bookstore for 42 years, retiring in 2005 as the bookstore manager. In this capacity, she provided a satellite bookstore at Harmony Hill Youth Camp for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, an unborn child and unborn grandchild. Survivors include her two daughters, Dvonna and her husband Larry Riggs, and Brenda and her husband Ralph Wheeler; seven grandchildren: Jeremy and wife Natalie Riggs, Jason and wife Megan Riggs, Sarah Beth Wheeler, Jamie (Riggs)and husband Nick Leach, R. E. and wife Heather Wheeler, Justin and wife Jenny Wheeler, Breanne Wheeler; twelve great grandchildren.
