Lydia Leuszler

November 5, 1922 — January 25, 2012

Lydia Leuszler, 89, Leawood, passed away Jan. 25, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born on November 5, 1922, raised in Brownsville, TX, and married Willhelm (Bill) Leuszler in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1944 during WW II. They had two children, one of whom, Barbara Leuszler, died in 1973 after being lovingly cared for by her parents.

Lydia greatly enjoyed her life as a wife, mother, and homemaker and had a special fondness for cooking. She had been a member of several bridge groups, and she and Bill always looked forward to their fall trips to South Padre Island which they totally enjoyed for 32 years. Lydia was a member of Village Presbyterian Church for 45 years.

She leaves behind her husband Bill, of the home; a son, John Leuszler and wife Maureen, Ledgewood, NJ; sister, Evangeline Henggler, Brownsville, TX; grandson, Greg Leuszler, Ledgewood, NJ; nephew, Louis Henggler and niece, Anita Henggler, both of Brownsville, TX; and cousins, Zelma and Zelda Asseo, both of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Arrangements for a memorial service are pending. The family suggests memorial contributions to Village Presbyterian Church or a favorite charity.
