Larry Bellmard

December 20, 1925 — September 10, 2014

Larry Leonard Bellmard, 88, Prairie Village, KS, passed away September 10, 2014.   Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m, Monday, September 15, followed by the Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5601 W. 62nd Street, Mission, KS, 66202.  Burial, with full military honors, will be at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3223 N. 18th Street, Kansas City, KS.  Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Larry’s memory.
Larry was born December 20, 1925 in Bethany, MO, to parents Paul L. and Mabel V. (Niday) Bellmard.  He proudly served in the US Navy for 2 ½ years during WW II.  Larry was a graduate of Truman State University in 1951, going on to a 35 year career as a purchasing manager.  His career started by opening the first formal purchasing department at Bethany Hospital, then completed his career with 23 years at Thompson, Hayward Chemical Company in Kansas City.
Larry was married to his wife, Frieda, for 49 wonderful years before she passed away in January 2007.  Larry and Frieda were parents of two children, Lisa Lynn and Larry Lee.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed spending time with his beloved Lois and her family.  Larry enjoyed watching KU basketball, Royals baseball, photography, and going to the dinner theater with Lois.  Visits from his son Larry and family were very special.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frieda, and by his daughter, Lisa in 1978.  He is survived by:  a son, Larry and wife, Lisa of Tulsa, OK; three grandsons: Clint, Liam, and Lance; and dear friend and companion, Lois Gunlach.  Please share precious memories and condolences at www.overlandparkchapel.com.
