Elder John Henry McConico

Elder John Henry McConico was born May 26, 1930, in Round Pond, Arkansas.  He was the child of John McConico and Fannie Mae McDaniel. He had three brothers: Elder LeRoy McConico Sr., Elder Willie Lee Sanders, and Archie Sanders who all preceded him in death.  All were dedicated to family and improving their family’s lives. They dedicated their lives to the Lord God and spreading the Gospel. They believed in the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and lived by the inspired Word of God, the Bible.  They lived with the Holy Spirit knowing the promise to one day go to the Father and live an eternal life with Him.

He accepted Christ and was baptized under  Elder Robert McDonald, at Grace Temple Church of God in Christ. He walked with Christ first as an Evangelist in the Church of God in Christ.  He pastored at the Temple of Refuge at the request of his brother Elder Willie Sanders prior to his passing.

John was self-employed at McConico and Sons in his early years.  Later he worked as a truck driver for Anderson and Sons Trucking until age 82.  He is survived by his wife of 71 years Vinither (Moore) McConico, of the home, four children Juanita, Janice, Larry (Deloras), Steven (Eva).   One daughter, Cynthia Lorraine preceded him in death. He leaves to continue his legacy 11 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.   John loved all people and was concerned about their souls. He never failed to talk about God the Father at every opportunity.
