Jo Ann Cannon

September 28, 1934 — March 3, 2016

In Loving Memory…….
Jo Ann Sams-Wilder Cannon departed to go to a better place on March 3, 2016. She was 81 years young and enjoyed life to the fullest. She never met a person she didn’t like, meeting many friends along her path.  She met Robert Cannon who swept her off her feet in June of 2002 and they enjoyed retirement by living state-to-state enjoying RV life, always enjoying whatever adventure they came across and loved meeting people.

Before that she was an avid member of the VFW, helped in putting together recipe books, and enjoyed living at the lake, sewing, quilt-making, singing, dancing, and crocheting. An avid God-loving church member her whole life.

She was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandparent and great grandparent, and lived a full life. She was born to Wilma and Dean Sams, and later adopted by King and Eva Wilder. She was preceded in death by all of her parents, and her brothers Virgil Sams, Cecil Vinyard, and her sister Betty Ivester.  She is survived by her brother Bill Sams, her daughter Idena Sell and her son Samuel Adcock, her son King Thomas and his son and daughter King Charles Thomas and Amber Keightley, and her youngest daughter Karen Flower and her sons Trenton and Curtis Kampe, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.

She will be missed by all, but we know she will be watching over us from above, free from pain, and will be able to move around with ease.

Service will be held at Overland Park Funeral on March 7th, viewing from 12-1:00pm, service at 1:00pm.  She will be laid to rest at Shawnee Mission Memorial Gardens.
