Joan Elizabeth Williams, of Prairie Village, Kansas died Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at Shawnee Gardens from complications of Alzheimer?s disease.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Norman Williams; daughter, Lindsay Howard and husband John of Grand Junction, CO; son, Jeff Williams and partner Kevin Hutchens of Laguna Niguel, CA and Sunrise Beach, MO; daughter, Nancy Anderson and husband Bruce of Leawood, KS; grandchildren, Erin Woosley (Monte), Nate Howard (Megan), Claire Anderson, Sarah Anderson, Emily Anderson, Joel Anderson; great grandchildren, Zach Woosley, Grant Woosley and Madelin Howard; sisters, Carol Rowe and Marilyn Cloyd.
Joan Williams was born May 31, 1927 in Kansas City, MO to Fred W. Vingers and Elizabeth E. Packman. She attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she was a member of Delta Gamma. Later she was a member of the Junior League of KCMO. Most important to Joan were her family and friends; she lived her life with passion and enthusiasm, which was apparent to everyone.
The family would like to thank the staff at Shawnee Gardens and the wonderful nurses of Grace Hospice.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 15 at St. Andrew?s Episcopal Church, 6401 Wornall Terrace, Kansas City, MO. Graveside services will be 12:30 P.M. Saturday, June 16 at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, 2300 S. 78th St., Omaha, NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer?s Association, 3846 W. 75th St., Prairie Village, KS 66208.
