Hazel Georgia (Dusenberry) Jones

Hazel Georgia Peterson (Dusenberry) Jones, on September 30, 2015, our mother was taken to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ. Hazel was born on January 2, 1921 to Georgia (Moore) and John E. Peterson. She was a lifelong resident of Kansas City.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husbands, John F. Dusenberry and Donald B. Jones. She is survived by her four daughters, Wilma Anderson (Darrell), Joyce Ocamb (Bradley), Peggy Stein (Tony), Debra Dusenberry and her sister, Gloria. She has 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
She was a member of the Overland Park Baptist Temple, and she missed being with fellow christians since her illness. Hazel enjoyed many hobbies of which sewing and square dancing were her favorites and the object of many good friendships and great memories.
She will be greatly missed but her influence will linger for generations.
Her funeral service will be 11:00am, Monday, October 5th with visitation one hour prior at Overland Park Funeral Chapel, 82nd and Metcalf, with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to Crossroads Hospice, 11150 Thompson Ave, Lenexa, KS 66219.
