Frank Fiorini

Frank A. Fiorini, 77, of Overland Park, KS passed away March 7, 2012. Visitation will be Monday March 19th from 3pm-6pm, with Mass at 6pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11300 West 103rd Street, Overland Park. All those attending are invited to an Italian meal to follow.
Frank was born on November 11, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a proud graduate of Roger Bacon High School in 1952 and Xavier University in 1959. He married Mary V. Kelly on April 7, 1956. He worked for Interstate Brands for 37 years beginning as a dockworker and retiring as Executive Vice-President. After retirement, he joined the non-profit, Uplift Organization, and served as the volunteer President for over 20 years. Frank was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus Council #11661.
Frank received the Catholic Charities Bishop Sullivan Award for Communications and Community Outreach in 2005. He was awarded a Symbols of Caregiving award from WDAF-TV Channel 4 and D.W. Newcomer's Sons in 1994. He was part of the Father Finn Society and 1831 Society from Xavier University. In 1998, Frank received Honorable Mention as a Kindest Kansas Citian. He also received recognition as a Bishop Miege "Soft Hart."
As well as volunteering his time to the community, Frank enjoyed jazz music, playing golf, attending sporting events, and watching movies. He was happiest surrounded by the laughter and love of his family.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his twin brother Joe, his sister Maria (Dennis) Carver, his children Andrew, Peter (DeAnne), Thomas (Jo Anne), Philip, Anne, James (Debbie), and Matthew (Leona); his grandchildren Geremie (Allisia), Annette, Jessica, Natalie, Amanda, Marco, Luke, Paul, James, Brianna and Kaeden; one great-granddaughter Gianna, and many nieces and nephews.
Throughout his life and into his death Frank was very generous to family, friends and charities. Frank requested that contributions be made to the Uplift Organization Inc, 1516 Prospect Avenue, Kansas City, MO, 64127.
