Eve Maria Schick of Overland Park, 92, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015.
Mrs. Schick was born in Vienna, Austria. She and her husband, Otto, who predeceased her, immigrated to the United States in 1946 from war-torn Europe. They settled in Kansas City, where they built Artex Manufacturing Company, a manufacturer of imprinted sportswear. When they sold the business in the late 1970s, it was the country’s second largest such manufacturer.
Mrs. Schick also maintained a residence in Highland Beach, Fla.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ann (Andrew) Harris of Fairfield, N.J., and a son, Michael Allen Schick of Olathe; two grandsons, David Aaron (Maren) Harris of Livingston, N.J., and Daniel Joseph (Heather) Harris of Hohokus, N.J.; and four great grandsons: Jordan, Scott, Zachary, and Samuel.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 17, at Overland Park Chapel, 8021 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park.
