Gene Bellner, 42, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012. Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church, 9300 Nall Ave, Overland Park, KS 66207. The family suggests contributions to the Boy Scouts of America.
Gene was born January 8, 1970 in St. Louis, MO to Eugene Bellner. He graduated from Shawnee Mission South in 1988. Gene was a reservist in the Marine Corps for four years and after that received his Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Kansas State University in 1994. Gene received his Eagle Scout award as a teenager and has been active in scouting for most of his adult life. In the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, he was Sachem Little Shaggy Growling Bear and was the current Scout Master for Troop 387. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Brooke Bellner; three children: Justin , Joshua, and Robyn Bellner; his parents, Eugene and Billie Bellner; sister, Krista Bundy; brothers, Mike (Julie) Small, and Tom (Karen) Small; paternal grandmother, Theresa Bellner; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Sue Flanders; father-in-law, David Bontrager; sister-in-laws, Julie (Joe) LeBeau and Stephanie Riederer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
