Elizabeth "Betty" Morris

March 2, 1928 — May 2, 2016

Betty V. Morris, 88, went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2016, passing away at Shawnee Mission Medical Center after a short illness.
Betty was born in Lenexa, KS, on March 2, 1928, to William and Mabel (Walmer) England.  She graduated from Shawnee Mission Rural High School and worked at the Mission Bank, First National Bank of Olathe, and then Bankline as a check encoder.
Betty married Neil E. Morris on August 24, 1950, before he entered the US Army a month later to serve in the Korean War.  They had two sons and enjoyed weekly family get-togethers with her extended family, who all lived in Lenexa or nearby towns.
Betty and Neil were active members of Nall Ave. Church of the Nazarene for over 40 years, volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and enjoyed their membership of the Plain Ol’ A’s Model A Ford Club of Kansas.  They enjoyed driving in the Lenexa July 4th parade and the Tonganoxie St. Patrick’s Day parade each year in their restored 1930 Model A Town Sedan.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband Neil.  She is survived by son Gene (wife Debbie) of Olathe, son Jeff (wife Susan) of Overland Park, 5 granddaughters—Lisa, Emily, Laura, Heidi, and Elsa, brother Bill England and sisters Dorothy Soetaert (husband Bert), Lenore England, and Katherine Morris (husband Don), and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Saturday, May 7, at Nall Ave. Church of the Nazarene, 6301 Nall, Prairie Village, KS.  Visitation will be at 9:30am at the church.  Memorial contributions can be given to the Missions Fund of Nall Ave. Church of the Nazarene.
