Edna was born in Cooper County to the parents of William and Annie B Stewart. She spent her early childhood growing up in the Pleasant Green Missouri area. Edna had four brothers; Roy, Alan, Billy, and Richard Stewart, all of whom preceded her in death.
Edna married her childhood sweetheart from Pleasant Green, Robert A Schlotzhauer on June 24, 1939.
Edna had 9 children who were the center of her life. She stayed home until the youngest was in school and then worked in a school cafeteria for 4 years before going to work at Zarda dairy until her retirement 27 years ago.
Edna will always be remembered for her sense of humor, amazing strength to push through difficult times, and overcome obstacles in life, as well as her love and devotion to family, children, and pets. She also instilled in her children integrity, strong work ethic, and financial resourcefulness.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Schlotzhauer Sr., and son Roland Schlotzhauer
She leaves behind her children Robert A. Schlotzhauer Jr(Kay) , Ronald Schlotzhauer(Charlene), Roleta Patterson(Jim), Rogena Strakoulas(Grant) Roveta White(Ron), Rodger Schlotzhauer (Kim)Roycee Schlotzhauer, and Rondah Summers. Grandchildren Lori Rookstool, Shelly McMasters, John Michael Miller, Cristi Clark, Beth McCoach, Susan Rahe, Jerry Schlotzhauer, Ashley Thornton, Christopher White, Kaycee Schlotzhauer, Kelcee Schlotzhauer, Maygan White, Cameron Summers, and Cole Summers
She also leaves behind twelve great-grandchildren, and her beloved puppy Molly.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 5th 2015 at 10:00am with services following at 11:00am at Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park.
