E. (Chuck Gentry

E.J. "Chuck" Gentry passed Friday, July 20, 2007, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born March 24, 1915, in Hand, Arkansas to John and Lillie Lewis. She married Doyle H. Gentry on Halloween 1932. One son was born to this union. The family moved to Kansas City in 1940. Chuck was active in the Keenagers of Johnson County. She enjoyed family water skiing, the sun and her yard. She was preceded in death by her parents, all eight of her siblings and husband Doyle. She leaves behind her son Doyce D. Gentry and his companion Martha; two grandsons, Kenneth and daughter Kara and Dennis and wife Kathy and son Wyatt, and a circle of close friends. The family wants to thank her nurse, Duane of St. Joseph Hospital, for his compassionate and professional care, as well as, Lucille Tutera, Sue and staff at the Atriums where Chuck lived. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf. Visitation 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m. A private family service at 1 p.m. in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, Mo. Remembrances may be made to your favorite charity.
