Donna Ford

March 1, 1934 — April 7, 2015

Donna M. Ford passed away April 7, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family and friends.  Visitation will be at the Overland Park Funeral Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS, on Friday, April 10th from 5-7pm.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 11th, at 1pm at the Metropolitan Avenue United Methodist Church, 3730 Metropolitan Avenue, Kansas City, KS.  Donna was an amazing and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all who graced her path.  She loved life and enjoyed her time spent with family and friends.  Nothing was more important to her than those moments in life.  Donna was born March 1st, 1934 in Lyndon, KS to James Merrill Sloop and Dorothy Tindell Sloop.  She was a graduate of Osage City High School where she met her husband Chuck. They were married on November 20th, 1953.
She lived a very active life visiting casinos with her friends, playing bridge, bunko, and traveling.  She supported her community not just by leaving money at the casino but also as a Block Mother, and member of PTA, Elizabeth Study and Booster Clubs, Cub Scout Leader, Girl Scout Leader and a member of the Metropolitan Avenue United Methodist Church.  Donna is survived by: her sisters, Betty Dunn and husband Gene (Topeka), Patty Banister (Douglass) and Mary Stewart and husband Ralph (Derby);and brother Mike and wife Dorothy (King George);  sons, Charles (Chuck) L Ford, Jr and wife Cindy, Marc Ford and wife Joyce, Jeff Ford, and daughter Tammy Reilly;  seven grandchildren, Brandon (wife Stacy), Haley (husband Trent), Jodee, Tracy (husband Kent), Erin, Abigail, and Kelsey; ten great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Marley, Kaden, Lydia, Collin, Addison, Jack, Spencer, Easton, and Colten.  Donna was preceded in death by: her husband of 53 years, Chuck; father, James; step mother, Bert; mother, Dorothy; step father, Chuck; and sister, Cheryl.
