Darlene Reynolds

Darlene Marcia Reynolds slept in on Thursday, June 19th, 2014, and awoke to the gates above. She was born in Sioux City, Iowa, March 12th, 1928 to Harold and Hazel Soiseth. They moved to Des Moines where she graduated from North High School. After attending Drake University, she moved to the University of Iowa to reactivate the Delta Zeta sorority. Later she became President of the Delta Zeta alumnae chapters in Des Moines, Omaha, Grand Island and Greater Kansas City. In 1978 she was chosen as Delta Zeta Woman of the Year, and was a 65-year Pearl member. Having been a Fine Arts major, she was involved in little theatre, both on the stage and as director. For many years, Darlene was active with many organizations from the Order of the Eastern Star, Windgates Garden Club and League of Women Voters to the P.E.O. Sisterhood where she was a charter member of Chapter HJ and a Golden Girl. She was a leader and served as president of every group to which she belonged. She enjoyed volunteering and teaching summer Bible school at Village Presbyterian Church where she was a member for 45 years. Darlene was predeceased by her husband, Russ in 1986. Her immediate family is daughter Wendy and son, Trey, daughter-in-law Jennifer and granddaughters Rachele, Mallory and Lindsay. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Delta Zeta Sorority, Village Presbyterian Church or Kansas City Hospice. Join us to celebrate her life Monday, July 7th, 2014, 11:30AM at Village Presbyterian Church, 67th & Mission Road, Prairie Village, Kansas.
