Mr. Daniel "Danny" Harkins

Daniel A. "Danny" Harkins, 82, of Overland Park, passed away on October 22, 2013. Danny owned Harkins Oil Company for 39 years. He retired and became employed at Country Club Bank for 20 years. He is survived by his wife LaDonna Owens Harkins, son David Harkins OP, KS, daughters Karen Scarboro OP, Alyce Yoksh Olathe, KS, and Elizabeth Kelley Portland, OR; grandchildren Samantha, Bridget, and Timothy Harkins; Bradley Shapiro, Lauren Scarboro; Amanda Yoksh; Connor, Ryan, Logan and Nikolette Kelley; and three great-grandchildren; siblings Zita Cleaver, Dorothy Wilson and Pat Harkins all of KC, MO, and Clyde Harkins of Denver, CO. He was preceded in death by sister, Mary Fortner. Danny was a member of Cure of Ars Catholic Church where he ushered the 6:00 pm mass for more than 20 years. Visitation Sunday, October, 27th, 5:00-7:00 pm with Rosary at 6:30 pm, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel 8201 Metcalf Ave., OP, KS. Mass of Christian burial Monday, October 28th, 10:00 am at Cure of Ars Catholic Church, Leawood, KS. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. Memorial donations may be made to Grace Hospice of KC, MO; Villa St. Joseph of OP, KS; or Cure of Ars Catholic Church, Leawood, KS.
