Charles was born February 2, 1942 in Clayton, Oklahoma to Rosie and Homer Orand and was raised in Oklahoma City. Charles served in the Army Reserves. He moved to Olathe, Kansas in 1967 with the Ford Motor Company and retired from Ford in 1996. In 1994, he bought a home in Tonganoxie, Kansas and married Judith in 1996. After retiring from Ford, his buddies from Ford helped him build a workshop and he started doing the one thing he enjoyed the most, woodworking. Charles also liked to gamble. Every three months or so, couples from Ford would get together and meet at one of the casinos (usually Ameristar) to eat and gamble for a couple of hours. Charles enjoyed this more than words could express. He loved being with his friends from Ford. When he was with his friends his eyes would light up a room, they were like his family. There was never a stranger that Charles met that didn?t become his friend. Charles had two beautiful sons from a previous marriage, Walker Dean Orand and Charles Brady Orand. He loved and adored his two grandsons, Colin Patrick Orand and Ryan Walker Orand. He is preceded in death by his brother, John Henry, who passed away in 1938 at birth; his father, Homer, in 1967; his mother, Rosie in 1993; and his son, Walker Dean, who passed away in 1994. Charles is survived by his wife Judith; his son, Charles Brady, Staford, TX; two grandsons, Colin Patrick, Shawnee, KS and Ryan Walker, Staford, TX; one sister, Nell Vaught and friend, Paul Jones, Eufuala, OK; and other relatives and friends too numerous to name. The family wishes to thank those for the many calls and prayers.
