Charles Olsen

Charles G. Olsen, 76, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Menorah Medical Center, Leawood, KS. A ?Celebration of Life? will be held 1:00 p.m., January 4th at Indian Heights United Methodist Church, corner of Nall and 103rd St., Overland Park, KS. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Indian Heights UMC Memorial Fund or Overland Park Host Lion?s Club Endowment Fund. Chuck was born January 21, 1931 in Staten Island, N.Y. He was a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Business and a Masters degree in Marketing. He served as 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. He was an active member of the Overland Park Host, Overland Park, KS. He was also a member of the Johnson County Retirees. He was a devoted member of the Indian Heights United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golf, gardening, woodworking, and especially life itself. He will be remembered for his loving smile, positive outlook and a friend to all. Chuck worked for Hormel Foods as a Regional Manager, prior to his retirement in 1991. He is survived by his loving wife Joan of 51 years, daughter Lesley, fianc? Kenneth Hessell and his pride and joy, grandson Collin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lois and Walter Zipf and sister-in-law Lorraine Olsen and nephew, Brian and Lawrence Zipf and David and Mark Olsen. He was preceded in death by his son Glenn and brother Arnfinn.
