Charles Dean Black, 77, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at home, surrounded by his family.
Charles was born in Bolivar, MO to Thomas A. Black and Julia Colvard Black on June 19, 1935. He was employed by NAPA Auto Parts for 38 years. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of 56 years, his children, Marcia (Randy) Nemeth of Shawnee, KS, Nancy (John) Barnes of Tonganoxie, KS, Janet (Jerry) Lumby of Lee's Summit, MO, Mike (Margaret Ann) Black of Kearney, MO, eleven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Thomerson, a son-in-law, Jim Walker, Jr., and eight brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 22nd, 9:30-10:30 AM, with a funeral service to follow at 10:30 AM, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel. Interment will follow at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
