Graveside services honoring the life of Carolyn Durham Latham Chaney, 86, will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens in Shawnee, KS. Mrs. Chaney was born on September 3, 1926 in Mansfield, LA and entered into rest on January 18, 2013 in Mansfield, LA. Carolyn was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and numerous other organizations. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mansfield, LA. She was a well-educated woman who attended Texas State College for Women, Louisiana State University, and Graduate School at University of Georgia. She believed in giving back to the community and did this by giving her time in different committees for various programs. Lynn will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and those she came into contact with during her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Orr Chaney; parents; two sisters; and one brother. Left to cherish her memory are her son, John S. Chaney and wife, Karen; daughter, Melissa Cassel and husband, Bob; and grandchildren, Meghan Chaney, Kate Chaney, and Carolyn Cassel.
