Mr. B Schanze

August B (Gus) Schanze passed away at home on April 1, 2014 at the age of 87.
Gus is predeceased by wives, Rosemary Schanze, Peggy Schanze and Ruby Schanze.
Gus is lovingly remembered by his children: Kathy Jonas, Melissa Schanze, Lynn Poplin and Mark Schanze; sons-in-law: Robert Jonas and David Poplin; grandchildren Matthew Jonas, Tim Jonas, Dara McGreal, Alex Poplin, Max Schanze and Oliver Schanze.
Gus was born in Rosedale, KS in 1926. He graduated from Rosedale High School and joined the Air Force in 1944. Starting with the Schanze Furniture store, Gus was in the furniture business all his life, retiring from Mittelman Furniture in 1995.
Gus enjoyed golf and playing pool with the Park Meadows Dirty Half Dozen.
Memories will be shared at D.W. Newcomer's Sons at 8201 Metcalf Ave Overland Park, KS 66204 on April 4, 2014 from 7 – 9 PM.
The family asks that donations to the American Cancer Society be sent in lieu of flowers.
