Alyce Buckman

Alyce Audrey Buckman was born on Nov. 30, 1920 in The Bronx, N.Y.C. A Leawood resident since 1965. Alyce passed away on March 23, 2012 with her son Tony and high school sweetheart husband Harry of 72 yrs, at her side. She was much loved by her four children Alycia, Anthony, H. John and Mary Jean plus her 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was very active with all her friends and family. Her house was the center of activity for the whole family. She loved to play bridge and was active in patterning handicap children and was involved in the Reach Program for physical and mental disabilities. Her interest in the arts involved as a 20 yr. season ticket holder at the K.C. Ballet plus all the plays in town.
All the family enjoyed the parties held at her home in Leawood celebrating their 50th, 60th, 70th anniversary plus a family reunion. She also loved to visit all her family which covered all corners of the USA.
Visitation will be held at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave. Tues and Weds, 6-8pm, March 27 & 28. Funeral Mass will be on Thurs, March 29, 10am at Curé of Ars Catholic Church 95th & Mission Rd.
