Lavon L. “Bonnie” Pedersen, 81, Overland Park, KS, passed away on May 18, 2016. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21 at Overland Park Chapel, 8021 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS. A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens at 75th and K-7 in Shawnee, KS.
Bonnie was born March 26, 1935 and raised in St. Joseph, Missouri. It was there that she met Jack Pedersen whom she married in 1953. They started their family and relocated to Johnson County, Kansas. She lived for her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who lovingly called her “Nanny.” She was known for spoiling her family and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband of 48 years, Jack; two brothers, Delmar Ballard, Jr. and Norman Ballard, and two sisters, Carol Mace and Joyce Mollett. Bonnie is survived by: three daughters, Debbie (Darrell) Dodson of Kansas City, KS, Pam Pedersen of Merriam, KS, and Dianna (Jeffrey) Olson of Spring Hill, KS. She also leaves two granddaughters, Kristen (Joshua) Martin of Olathe, KS and Dana (Matt) Taylor of Oahu, HI. There are four great grandchildren who will cherish her memory: Jesse Martin, Kyla Taylor, Kali Martin, and Mia Taylor. Please offer condolences at www.overlandparkchapel.com.
