William Thayer Sr.

William David “Bud” Thayer Sr., age 74, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family on July 22, 2016. He was born January 8, 1942, in Burlington, Iowa to Dona and James Thayer. Bud and Betty were married on September 2, 1960. He worked many years as a Electronic Technician.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Dona and James Thayer; sisters Noami Sparks, Georgia Yarnall, Estella Dunn; brothers Jerry Thayer and Jimmy Thayer. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Frazier Thayer; daughter Michelle (Mike) Anderson, son Billy (Emma) Thayer, daughter Debbie (Jay) Eberly; granddaughters Nicole (Kyle) Streeter, Jessica (Bryan) Bijonowski, Carrie (Scot) Range, Lacey (James) Shank; great grandsons Xander Rosemond, Cade and Hunter Streeter, Kody Range; brother Victor Thayer and many other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 7 pm Tuesday, July 26th at Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 5 to 7 pm. Interment will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, July 27, at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS.
