Robert Farlich

January 30, 1927 — February 25, 2016

Robert William Farlich, formerly of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home in Lansing, KS, surrounded by family, on February 25, 2016.  He was born on January 30, 1927.  He was an avid writer and loved his dogs and photography.  He joined the US Army in March of 1945.  While serving his country he received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the Army Occupation Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.  He is survived by:  nieces, Ann Rethorst, Lansing, KS, Ellen Terry-Vaughn, Overland Park, KS, and nephew, Dr. John Terry.  He was preceded in death by:  his parents, John and Sadie Farlich; sisters: Mary Farlich, Joann Terry, and Jeannette Rethorst; and niece, Sarah Guzman.  “Really” Bob…you will be missed.  Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Friday, March 4 at Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS.  A Graveside service, with military honors, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5 at Memorial Park, Kansas City, KS.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Great Plains ASPCA.  Please offer condolences at www.overlandparkchapel.com.
