Our Story

Learn our story, from the beginning and into the future.

We invite you to discover who has made the Overland Park Funeral Chapel the communities indisputable choice for creating healing experiences. This section contains the heritage, vision, and the people behind Overland Park Funeral Chapel's reputation of quality, sincerity, and trust.

Choosing a funeral home can be an overwhelming decision, especially at an emotional time. That's why it is important to know that there really is a difference. Overland Park Chapel was built by the Newcomer Family and opened in 1963 at 8201 Metcalf Avenue to serve the community and county. Today, we continue to provide families with quality, compassionate care. Our expert arrangers at Overland Park Chapel offer families strength and comfort during their time of loss.

At Overland Park Chapel, we stand with families before, during and after the loss. We guide families through the process of creating memorable and meaningful events that honor and pay tribute to the unique life. No matter how elaborate or how simple we can custom tailor the memorial event to the specific wants and needs of any family and any budget.  Our iconic facility's interior was completely restored in its original mid century design at the end of 2016.  The restoration allowed for a transformation from traditional funeral chapel to a bright and welcoming event space.

Through our core values of respect for the family, respect for the individual and respect for the profession, families can be assured that they will receive personalized, individual and compassionate attention when making arrangements with Overland Park Chapel. Our professional and caring staff understand the significance of loss and are here to help families begin the healing process of grief.
